Contract Partnering
The basis of partnering with our customers is to get close to contractors to ensure good contact and supply a full package of materials from the start of the site through to completion.

Winvic Ltd
Winvic were awarded a contract in Milton Keynes for a large warehouse, we obtained a drainage drawing and completed a take-off of all drainage materials. The range of materials included a large Weholite tank, line drainage, headwall constructions, specialist manhole covers and frames, gabions, mesh and kerbs etc.

We had a meeting at our head office with the contracts manager and site manager and discussed the type of service we could offer. We discussed the take-off and certain products at this meeting. Following this, subsequent meetings took place to clarify all technical queries.
UGS now supply virtually all of the site requirements. We have weekly site meetings to monitor progress and organise deliveries. The constant communication and scheduling with the site helps UGS make sure supply is on time and the site runs smoothly.

Contract partnering appears to be unique to UGS; no other merchant offers anything similar to this service. Most merchants prefer to stay removed from doing take-offs leaving their suppliers to undertake the task. Virtually no suppliers are able to offer take-offs via a local representative and usually pass it back to their design office.
This can result in delays of up to two weeks. Then when the schedule of materials provided no one has enough knowledge or understanding of what has been offered so questions and queries from site have to go back to the design office resulting in longer delays. Sites become very frustrated by theses delays. We offer a service where queries can be resolved with one phone call.
