About Our Geotechnical Division UGS have relationships with several manufacturers of geotechnical products enabling us to provide the full range of available materials to our customers. Our geotextile and geogrid products have between them fulfilled the demand of the six main geotechnical applications: separation, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, erosion control and protection. Every UGS branch keeps a large stock of both woven and non-woven geotextiles. Also in stock is a range of different grades of geogrids. We have recognised that these products can be required on a vary urgent basis and subsequently keep substantial stock ready for immediate delivery. Along with the standard grades of geotextiles and geogrids we also have the ability to provide geocomposites, geomembranes and geotechnical products for drainage and erosion control.   Case Study Welson Plant Limited - Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal Central, Northamtonshire When installing the service yard floor area on this site it was necessary to reinforce the ground as it had suffered from bad weather conditions and was very wet and boggy, therefore making it very unstable when trying to install a sub base and concrete surface area. We were asked what information we could provide on a geotechnical reinforcement product, we concluded that a geogrid product would would be most suitable as it would hold the sub base together more and provide a more solid base. The geogrid interlocks with the sub base to strengthen the ground. Following approval of the product by the site engineers we supplied over 3500m2 of the geogrid.
