About our Retaining Walls and
Acoustic Barriers Division

UGS are sole distributors of retaining wall systems and acoustic barriers manufactured by Lusit GmbH. As Lusit UK we have two specific systems available for use for earth retention. Our modular elements are interlocking blocks made from a product called Lusapor, a specially expanded slate mixed together with cement and water. These elements available in many shapes and sizes are used predominantly for gravity retaining walls and are perfect for planting, making them an ideal solution for ground retention on housing projects. Our angle supports are precast concrete Lshape retaining wall units, manufactured from 300mm high up to 8000mm high; using high quality steel moulds for guaranteed consistency. They must be considered as an ideal alternative to walls being cast insitu, saving both time and money.

Mountgould Hospital, Plymouth

Midas secured the Mountgould LIFT project
and chose Fred Champion as the subcontractor.
Fred Champion had successfully completed two previous projects for Midas Construction using Lusit pre-cast concrete units for retaining walls.
The projects were based on a standard design from a known supplier, however to secure the right solution for their client, Midas soon realised a more innovative approach was needed. Time, cost and quality became issues; Lusit proved to be the ultimate solution with a ‘site specific’ design, calculations, warranties, manufacturing flexibility and the ability to deliver on time. Delivery started three weeks from the date of order and 600,000 kg’s of angle supports were completed within three weeks.
